    Managing Director & Third Generation Winemaker

    Following in his father's and grandfather's footsteps, third generation winemaker Mitchell Taylor is well aware of his family's winemaking heritage and is passionate about upholding the family tradition of producing world-class wines.

    Having graduated from the Bachelor of Science - Oenology at Charles Sturt University in 1995 and completing vintages as a winemaker from 1989 – 1997, Mitchell is closely involved in Taylors winemaking. Under Mitchell's guidance and steadfast vision the Taylors winemaking team seek to craft the best Australian wines for every occasion.

    With a prolific history in the winemaking industry, Adam's expertise ensures our wines are made with the highest quality and unmatched finesse.

    When Adam Eggins moved to Oberon in NSW some time ago, it was the beginning of a wine odyssey that would culminate in him joining Taylors in 1999. His first vintage with Taylors in 2000 was a baptism of fire, with drought conditions seriously affecting yields. But with the 2001 vintage, he demonstrated his skills as a great winemaker, crafting wines that drew accolades from around the world. Adam's dedication to the craft, and passion for truly great wines was duly credited in 2006, when he was awarded Australian Winemaker of the Year by Winestate Magazine – and was a finalist again in 2007 and 2010!

    Ryan Waples

    Senior Winemaker

    Ryan’s interest in wine started early while growing up in the Eden Valley, South Australia, helping on his family’s vineyard. He graduated with his Bachelor of Agricultural Science (Oenology) from Adelaide University in 2002.

    He has had extensive experience in the Australian and New Zealand wine industry and in 2011, after almost seven years working in New Zealand, Ryan and his family moved back to South Australia making the Clare Valley their home.

    He has always had a passion for South Australian wines and wanted to be a part of the industry in his home state. To Ryan, working for a family-owned company means he can truly get to know the people behind the wines, their heritage and passion.

  • Chad Bowman

    Chad Bowman

    Assistant Winemaker

    Chad Bowman is a born and bred Clare Valley boy. His family own a vineyard in Clare Valley and Chad virtually grew up surrounded by vines, so you could say wine is definitely in his blood.

    Chad joined the Taylors winemaking team in January 2003. Having enrolled to study a Bachelor of Applied Science (Wine Science) at Charles Sturt University he welcomed the opportunity afforded to him by Taylors to put into practice what he was learning.

    As Taylors Wines is a medium size winery with a small winemaking team, Chad's role as the Assistant Winemaker spans all aspects of the winemaking process. Not a day goes by that he is not presented with a new challenge by the senior members of the winemaking team – an opportunity to learn something new.
