Wine Bouquet
Lifted aromas of red cherries, chocolate, plum, violets and spice.
Wine Palate
Rich flavours of dark berry fruits, plum, chocolate, vanilla bean and freshly roasted coffee are supported by soft ripe tannins. The wine has a finely balanced palate with good structure and exceptional length.
Critics Notes
“A medium-bodied wine which shows the synergy available from this blend; supple and smooth, it ranges through red and black fruits, licorice and dark chocolate, but no one character dominant. 92 points.” James Halliday Aust Wine Companion 2009
"Rich, spicy purple/red shiraz that’s sweet and smoky on the nose and has dense Vegemite flavours, plenty of acidity, astringent oak and an alcoholic finish".
4 STARS Winestate Magazine, 2008
“Mint, oak, tobacco and gun smoke are suggested in the complex bouquet. It’s lively and intense in the mouth, energised with acidity and mintiness. Full-bodied, full of flavour with mild but balanced tannins. 89/100 points.” Huon Hooke, Sydney Morning Herald (AUS), 19 May 2009

Tastings - Top Aussie Red
A Clare Valley, McLaren Vale blend with a slightly minty nose with overtones of oak, tobacco and gunsmoke. Intense, lively palate with good depth and a degree of richness, the tannins well judged for a drink-or-keep style.
