Promised Land
Promised Land
Merlot 2010
| Region: | South Australia |
This is a medium-bodied wine with a soft, round and gloriously fleshy palate. Delicious flavours of ripe plum, red berries abound with subtle coffee bean also evident.
Deep red.
Wine Bouquet
Lifted aromas of spice and plum with subtle oak interplay.
Wine Palate
Fleshy and medium bodied with plum fruit flavours surrounded by a touch of vanilla and coffee that is rounded out by a smooth soft finish.
This is what I call and “everyone-everywhere” wine…the sort of wine that is just right to drink for “everyone-everywhere”!! Soft and smooth this is one of those wines that is so drinkable it screams “just one more glass”!
Cellaring Notes
Ready for immediate enjoyment however with careful cellaring will develop further to 2014, possibly longer.

Promised Land Merlot 2010Illawarra Mercury, June 2011
The quality of Taylors entry-level wines was never more evident than at the recent LA international Wine and Spirits Competition where its Promised Land Unwooded Chardonnay picked up a high-scoring gold medal. This new release merlot from the range, released in time for the cooler months ahead, is a handy quaffer with its plum and berry fruit flavours, a touch of spice, good oak balance and rounded tannins. Drink with a veal casserole.

Nice integration of raspberry, mulberry and fruit cake characters on this youthful wine.

""A good Aussie red' said one judge. Moody oak nose and seamless sweet fruit/oak palate.
Promised Land Merlot 2010Peter Chapman, Daily News - Tweed Heads NSW, July 2011
Mr Dependable could well be the name given to the Promised Land blends put out by Taylors. They are one of the big sellers on the market in the $14-$20 range and for good reason. A nice smooth Merlot with spicy oak aromas.Wine of the Week

Wine of the Week
From the Clare Valley's biggest producer, this young red shows admirably accurate merlot varietal character cherry, plum and foresty aromas combine in a light, pleasant fragrance, and the palate is soft and simple, clean-tasting and juicy, with just enough tannin structure for balance.
