  The 2006 Promised Land Shiraz Cabernet is a rich, spicy wine with great mid palate presence and generosity. Ginger, spicy berry fruit and vanilla bean are all evident across the palate, while the finish is that of Cabernet with a fine persistence of mint and cassis and lingering tannins. It has a deep red ruby hue with rich purple undertones. The nose has varietal aromas of cherry, jam and minty perfume are merged with a subtle chocolate, tobacco oak. A ripe plummy, berry mid palate complimented with a light herbal vivaciousness, and a hint of pepper. The oak shows immense toasty, vanillin length and integration. Overall a developing, lively wine selected from quality varietal parcels, from which Taylors have forged a superior reputation. The Shiraz Cabernet marries well the strength of American oak and the subtle length of French oak.
