Wine Colour
At release, the wine has a developing brick red colour with a deep crimson heart. The colour is beginning to show very subtle signs of development.
Wine Bouquet
The wine has a brooding, savoury complex yet thoroughly enticing aroma. Mouth-watering wafts of chocolate, mocha, toffee and cream intertwine with plum, aniseed and rich berry fruit.
Wine Palate
The palate is a mouthful of round completeness. The fruit flavours and oak weight are in absolute balance bringing harmony and grace to the palate from start to finish. This is a generous yet elegant wine that showcases Clare Valley Shiraz at its best.
Cellaring Notes
Evolving well at release yet should cellar well to 2018 with the wine peaking at around 2014.

Lisa Perrotti Brown, Robert ParkerÆs Wine Advocate, December 2010
Medium-deep garnet colored, this shiraz offers a nose of earth, Chinese dried plums, kirsch, creme de cassis, licorice, espresso and cinnamon stick. Full bodied with a high level of fine knit tannins, it offers plenty of layered fruit with crisp acid.

Medium-deep garnet colored, 2006 St Andrews Shiraz offers a nose of earth, Chinese dried plums, kirsch, creme de cassis, licorice, espresso and cinnamon stick. Full bodied with a high level of fine knit tannins, it offers plenty of layered fruit with crisp acid. The long finish still shows a little oak. Drinking now, it should cellar to 2017+.

A velvet glove with beautiful hints of blackcurrant. A toasty oak nose mixed with coconut and vibrant berry fruits.

Australian Wine Annual, November 2011
Very ripe and oaky, with a meaty, spicy bouquet of blackberries and plums almost lost under a swathe of smoky vanilla and dark chocolate oak. The palate is especially charry and old-fashioned, with deeply ripeded dark fruits somewhat subdued by polished mocha and smoked oyster-like cooperage.

Outstanding
Tangy and juicy with meaty plum and blackberry fruit; spice, minerals and firm acidity; long and balanced.

Wining Pom, February 2012
Clare typicity to the max. A deeply brooding wine imbued with dark berry fruit, mocha toffee and vanillin oak, secondary charcters of plum and menthol feature too. A richly layered and textured palate with intense black fruit signature, cedary oak and a powerful swathe of spice, fruit and tannin. Great staying power and structure with an exceptional presence in the glass.

Shiraz and blends
Great varietal definition; a lovely mature wine with cedar aromas with a floral edge; the palate is full of silky plum, chocolate, blackberry, jam and clove flavours; some lovely complex aged notes and an excellent sweet, long finish; a warm and smooth wine that is gracefully holding its age.

Clare Valley and Surrounding Regions
A big, old-fashioned style - soft sweet and very drinkable with great nutty development evident.

World's greatest shiraz challenge
This is almost perfect', declared one judge. Has many years of cellaring ahead of it. Loads of high quality oak is sitting on top of excellent varietal fruit that gives long, intense flavours.
