  • Taylors Estate Shiraz 201383 /100

    The Wine Front, April 2014

It has sweet blackberried syrupness with highlights of mint and coffee. That coffeed note singly sweetly through the finish. It all feels a bit manufactured but the density of fruit is not to be scoffed at; there's more fruit weight here than most of the reds it'll be competing against at its (discounted) rate.

  • Taylors Estate Shiraz 2013

    Illawarra Mercury, May 2014

TaylorÆs was established in the Clare Valley to make Burgundy-style red wine. These days the portfolio is big, diverse and very prominent. The Estate wines, like this smart shiraz with its red fruit, integrated spice, chocolate and savoury characters, are in my opinion among the best made and best value sub - $20 wines doing the rounds.

  • Top Drop
    Taylors Estate Shiraz 2013

Chris Shanahan, Sunday Canberra Times, May 2014

    Top Drop
The 2013 provides particularly rich, gutsy drinking. The ripe, sweet aroma û reminiscent of black cherries û leads to a big, juicy palate. While the initial impression is of endless fruit, waves of firm, rustic tannins soon ripple through, giving the wine a dry, gripping finish.

    Taylors Estate Shiraz 20135 stars

Ronn Weigand, Restaurant Wine, August 2014

    Issues 155, 156, 157
Once again, these Taylors 2013 varietals are terrific wines and great value. The Shiraz is also outstanding: a rich, supple wine with excellent flavor and balance. It is full bodied, smooth and long on the palate, and very persistent in the finish, tasting of black licorice, loganberry jam, toast, oak, and plum. Aged 12 months in American oak barrels.

    Taylors Estate Shiraz 201388 points

Huon Hooke, Sydney Morning Herald, September 2014

    Wine of the Week
The colour is impressively dark and glass-staining, the cherry and banana aromas are bright and fresh, while the wine is fruitdriven, clean and grapy. It's smooth and balanced for early drinking. A modern, bright and slightly clinical Aussie red. Now to 2021. (14 per cent alcohol.) Food: Spaghetti bolognese.

  • Straight Off The Vine
    Taylors Estate Shiraz 2013

Neil Cammies, Western Mail, October 2014

    Straight Off The Vine
The Aussie Taylors Estate Shiraz 2013 hails from the cooler climate of the Clare Valley and as a result displays finesse and a multi-dimensional texture more associated with its French counterparts. This is an example of the New World listening to the market place and its spiritual home of the Rhone Valley. The bouquet is dark berry fruit with aromas of chocolate and coffee. In the mouth the earthy black fruits has a good balanced acidity and a delicious mouth-filling texture.

  • Taylors Estate Shiraz 2013

    Simonwoods.com, November 2014

Great winter warmer û although maybe next winter rather than this oneà..On the young side û the toasty oak ideally needs another few months to calm down û but this is lovely warm hearted stuff, with bold chocolate-tinged plum and berry flavours, notes of bay and eucalyptus, and typical Clare earthiness on the finish

  • Wines of The Week
    Taylors Estate Shiraz 2013

Tom Cannavan, Huffington Post, December 2014

    Wines of The Week
A wine that in some ways is very traditionally Ozzy Shiraz, but with a lovely earthiness and savoury character to match up to its abundant black fruit: blueberry, damson and blackcurrant. There's also a touch of mint or eucalyptus, but that earthiness comes through. Balanced, fruit forward and rich on the palate, it has the dryness and hint of muscle to take on roast beef or venison very nicely, but is soft enough in terms of tannin structure to make it a very decent red wine¡lovers choice for turkey too. It's ú12.99 in Majestic.
