Full and dark edged aromas: roast tomato sugo over blackberry and mulberry conserve, cassis/blackcurrant, grated dark chocolate, deep leather jacket folds and sweet cedary oak. Carries its weight well through a medium-full push of consistent dark fruit flavour ably supported by a loose-knit fleece of tannin. There’s a little slickness and polish to the fruit in mod-Oz style forgiven by consistent length of flavour. Somewhat of a bargain.

This wine is perfumed in plum and dark cherry fruit, dried flowers, earthy herbs and an oak-driven charred-meat note that adds character. There's a lovely lift of acidity that makes the fruit feel crunchy. The tannins are chalky textured and taut. In typical Cabernet fashion, they're powerful but not overwhelming.

Ruby colour with flecks of claret. Pronounced aromas of fruitcake and mocha. A full-body with an expressive fruit profile, cassis, prunes, cherry and bay leaf. Robust tannins and a chewy, persistent finish

Firmly-stuctured cabernet sauvignon with cassis, blackcurrant, liquorice and cigarbox flavours restrained by firm, ripe tannins. An intense wine that is a little closed right now but should develop well with bottle age.

The 2019 Estate Cabernet is terrific: a ripe, fairly rich, well structured wine, with excellent depth and flavor (black currant, loganberry, cassis, blackberry, pepper, red licorice, oak), fine balance, and a very long finish. Can be aged a bit. Aged 12 months in French oak barrels.

This is a widely available blend of fruit from the Clare Valley, where the Taylor family planted their first vineyard, and the Limestone Coast region. Classic Australian red flavours of berry, plum and dark currant with a hint of chocolate. This has plenty of presence and personality and is a terrific every drinking red. Versatile, too, with red or white meat dishes.
