...it’s a pretty classical Shiraz, with scents of beach rose and hot asphalt, Clare notes of eucalyptus bark and peppery, mineral-dark tannins that lend it grit and power. Forget it in a decanter for a few hours, then down it with grilled lamb.

Juicy and savoury with mouth-wateringly ripe fleshy black plums. Great value. Absolutely delicious.

The Taylor family creates intensely aromatic wines, so get ready for the drenching cassis, violets, menthol, smoke and chocolate flavours. It’s a glass staining purple and dense with tannic grit. Best 2019-2023.

This is fresh cooler climate Aussie shiraz with some complexity to nose and palate. It is an opaque purple with a harmonious nose of blueberry and blackberry fruit with well integrated oak spice plus some floral tones and a touch of dark chocolate and vanilla. The palate is quite elegant with the soft fruit well balanced by acidity and gentle tannin. Very good to excellent length. Good focus and well priced. Try with a steak

Sees time in both French and American oak, but more of the latter. Ripe cherry fruit with a touch of mint is pretty much the dominant theme with this wine, and it does show some regional personality along with that. Complexity is not part of the equation here, it's just a good mouthful of generous, satisfying flavour which is exactly what's expected of it, you'd have to say.

Hints of blueberry, blackberry, jam on toast and only a bit of pepper all on the nose while the mouth held notes of that same blue to black fruit, not a lot of spice or pepper, but good tannins and a tingling quality.

The 2016 Shiraz begins with an enticing aroma of spicy black cherry, black pepper and plum notes. The wine tastes smooth and spicy just like a good Shiraz should. Medium to full-bodied, it features loads of dark berry fruit, cola and licorice with hints of vanilla wrapped up in a nice velvety mouthfeel. A bit of oaky spice and coffee leads into the dry, long finish.

The 2016 Shiraz is exceptional: a full bodied, supple, intensely fruity wine (blackberry, black licorice, black currant, cherry), with very good balance, and a long finish, displaying light oakiness. Great value. Aged primarily in American oak barrels; a small portion briefly in French oak barrels.

Offering great value, this dark, sturdy (14% alc/vol) wine offers excellent depth of vibrant blackcurrant, plum and liquorice flavours, gently seasoned with oak, and a wellrounded, spicy finish.

Rock-solid classic plummy fruit notes with gorgeous sweetness yet pure, long, juicy fruit. An Aussie stalwart. An epitome of the style that has made Australia popular, and I’d like to think the everyday drinker would appreciate the difference of spending a little more to get this. Ultra-smooth texture.
