Structured and poised in a way you don’t often get at this price point. This is high-class stuff from the Clare Valley. Sinewy fine tannins and a liberal coating of oak add their influence to the sweet ripe fruit. Just gets it right.

Shiraz from the Clare is generally quite different from Shiraz made in the nearby Barossa Valley. More elegant and a bit lighter in body, it has its own unique appeal. This Shiraz from Clare Valley shows pretty aromas of blueberry and wood spice, with bright acidity and a lingering finish.

Youthful raspberry and red-plum aromas, a mid-weight palate and a big hit of raspberry flavors. A berry-pastry finish. Supple. Drink now.

Medium purple color. Aromas show sweet plums, blackberries and blueberries, with some eucalyptus, mint and violets. Full-bodied, smooth tannins, surprisingly fresh acidity. Crisp and juicy with blackberries, blueberries and black cherries, which fit well with the espresso, mint, dark chocolate, black pepper and vanilla tones. Delicious but vibrant, this has quite a bit of complexity at this price point. Aged 12 months in American oak.

A charred wood and meaty note leads the way on this wine, followed by brambly red and black fruit, cinnamon and white spice. The acidity on the palate is a little astringent, causing the red fruit flavors to feel tart, but a sandy texture and soft woody tannins help to balance things out to a certain extent. In keeping with how it's made, this gun barrel straight shiraz. Straightforward and to the point. Ripe black and red fruit, spice and toast from 12 months in oak. Just enough tannin and acidity to things savoury and fresh.

Strawberry and raspberry flavors have firm tannins and a green, herbal note in this red. Peppery on the finish, where the tannins clamp down. Drink now.

Big inky generosity here but is showing some finesse and elegance. Smells of blackberry jam and has a very "polished" palate that is long and soft in the mouth.

Ever reliable: the matching choice of so many mid-week dinners and summer weekend BBQs. Pencil wood and perfumed black currant with almost rose petal florals and red apple skin. Cedary woody notes and slightly green/stalky mulberry. Medium to full, with mesh-like tannins enveloping a precise cassis palate. Tightly varietal with a hint of touch of rusticity, the flavour tail falls away before the desired end point but the quality is evident for the price point.

Screw cap. Delicious Shiraz. Supple, full bodied, very disinct in flavor (blackberry, black currant, red licorice), with light oakiness, good balance, and a long finish. Still youthful; will develop further. Great value. Aged 12 months in American oak barrels. 14% [2019-2021]
