Colour At release the wine is a very pale straw colour with a youthful green hue.
Nose The wine has intense lifted aromas of melon and lime with hints of stone fruits. There are underlying tropical notes of green pineapple and guava and subtle secondary characters of flint, cedar and spice.
Palate The palate delivers what the bouquet promises; citrus fruits, fig and melon flavours along with a clean, mineral acidity and a touch of lemon zest. Texturally, it is delicate, with a creamy mid palate & integrated oak. The Clare Valley parcel delivers mid palate fleshiness whilst the Margaret River component contributes restrained green fruit notes that are typical of this region. Overall, the wine has a great palate line & length which lingers long after the wine is consumed.
Vintage Conditions The growing season leading up to vintage 2019 saw lower than average winter and spring rainfall. This, along with some hail and frost events, affected yields overall. There were some extreme weather conditions during the growing season, including the lowest temperature recorded in spring and the highest ever temperature in summer, but overall, the vines showed great resilience. In Margaret River, 2019 was a comparatively late and long season, with lower yields. The cooler ripening conditions resulted in amazing flavour intensity and acid retention in the whites, particularly Chardonnay.
Oak Maturation After fermentation in barrel and battonage, otherwise known as yeast lees stirring, the wine was matured for 8 months in French oak barrels (60% new, 20% 2 year old and 20% 3year old) and was then blended and bottled.
Cellaring Notes Crafted for immediate enjoyment but will cellar over a medium term under ideal conditions.

    Aromas of nectarine, white flowers, nuts and grapefruit. There's plenty of white peach, melon and sprightly acidity driving the palate. Oak frames the wine nicely to make for a fresh, structured and mid-weighted wine with some phenolic grip.

    The 2019 Jaraman Chardonnay is exceptional Chardonnay, in a ripe but elegant style. It is full bodied and moderately intense in flavor (pear, peach, pineapple, toast, vanilla, candied lemon, lime), with fine balance, and a very long and persistent finish. Great value; can be aged further. Barrel fermented, and aged 8 months in French oak barrels, 60% new. 61% Clare Valley, 39% Margaret River.
