Colour At release, the wine is a very pale green/straw colour with a slight green tinge to the edge.
Nose The wine displays vibrant lime aromas with hints of lemon and faint floral notes.
Vintage Conditions The growing season was characterized as warm and dry for vintage 2018, the only year in recent times warmer was 2016, which produced some excellent, award-winning wines. One of the great things about this vintage, though, was that we avoided any major heatwaves during vintage which can be very damaging and so to that end, vintage was relatively calm and controlled. Overall, our winemaking team are very excited about the quality of the wines from this vintage. In terms of the white varieties, these wines are highly aromatic with very pure and distinct varietal characters.
Cellaring Notes Crafted for immediate enjoyment but will cellar over a long term under ideal conditions.

    Bridging the styles, to a degree, between the standard Clare (generous) and the Reserve Parcel (finesse). There's a composed, confident flow about this wine. Depth of flavour without sacrificing elegance, immaculately tailored (ha!), and with length to burn.

    Brilliant, light gold/green color. The nose is moderately intense offering scents of lemon and acacia flowers with supporting notes of green tea, grapefruit, and slate. The palate confirms the nose delivering a citrus-driven core with flavors of Asian pear, kiwi, and green apple. The finish is long and lingering. Medium-bodied and perfectly balanced with a loads of bright acidity creating a vibrant texture.

    Editors’ Choice. Taylors’s single-vineyard Riesling is always as traditional Clare Valley as it gets and this vintage—a dry and low-yielding one—doesn’t disappoint. From grapes grown on terra rossa over limestone soil, it’s austere and very young but has all of the lemon-lime, white-pepper, chalk-dust and honeysuckle characters you’d hope for. The palate is tight, focused and bone dry, with laser-sharp acidity, a talc-like texture, fresh citrus fruit and a long limey finish. Drink 2021–2029 and likely beyond. Seaview Imports.

    Light yellow colour, with a fresh lemon-essence, straw and dry-grass aroma, with a lively palate which is dry and quite high-acid. It is very nervy, dry and crisp and needs either food or time. It would age well. 26/2/2019

    The 2018 St. Andrews Riesling is a remarkable Clare Valley wine: fragrant, medium bodied, crisp, and very long on the palate, with refined aromas/flavors (pear, lime, pineapple, grapefruit, honeysuckle), excellent balance, and a zesty, long finish. Great quality and value; warrants aging.
