Colour At release, the wine has a concentrated dark purple colour with a deep violet hue to the edges.
Nose There are lifted berry compote aromas along with black cherry and a hint of chocolate and then subtle savoury overtones from the French oak.
Palate This is an elegant wine with immediate flavours of boysenberry, blackberry and then more subtle chocolate and spice. The palate is bright, vibrant and juicy with a precise fine tannin line. The oak maturation brings depth and length to the palate. The wine is very well balanced with well integrated oak and the finish is persistent and imminently enjoyable.
Oak Maturation French oak was employed for its ability to deliver a degree of elegance and length to the palate. The wine was matured for 15 months in fine-grained French oak before being blended, filtered and bottled.
Cellaring Notes Crafted for immediate enjoyment but will cellar over a medium term under ideal conditions.

Bright purple-red and vibrant. Layers of ripe black fruit - think blackberry and plum, bitter chocolate, and a good dose of brown spices from the French oak maturation. There's depth to the fruit here. A sweet core then the oak spices kick in leaving a dry savoury finish. As the label states, oak is a feature.
