Colour At release, the wine has a concentrated dark purple colour with a deep violet hue to the edges.
Nose There are lifted berry compote aromas along with black cherry and a hint of chocolate and then subtle savoury overtones from the French oak.
Palate This is an elegant wine with immediate flavours of boysenberry, blackberry and then more subtle chocolate and spice. The palate is bright, vibrant and juicy with a precise fine tannin line. The oak maturation brings depth and length to the palate. The wine is very well balanced with well integrated oak and the finish is persistent and imminently enjoyable.
Oak Maturation French oak was employed for its ability to deliver a degree of elegance and length to the palate. The wine was matured for 12 months in fine-grained French oak before being blended, filtered and bottled.
Cellaring Notes Crafted for immediate enjoyment but will cellar over a medium term under ideal conditions.

Good colour and a smoky, spicy, clove and some charcuterie on the bouquet; the palate light to medium-weighted and elegantly structured with a little firmness and very good balance. In the mouth, the wine is finely tailored and elegant, with a most pleasing feel and taste. Fruit leads the way, red berries and spices and a hint of licorice. Long lingering aftertaste. A really smart wine at a keen price.
