- 1 x 750ml bottle of Taylors wine
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1\/2 cup orange juice
- Peel of one lemon
- Peel of one orange
- 1 packet of spice mix packed for Taylors Wines by Herbs Spices
- Place the sugar, lemon and orange peel and the whole packet of the spice mix into a large saucepan and place on medium heat. Add just enough of the red wine to the pan to ensure the sugar, citrus peel & spices are covered and slowly cook for 4-5 minutes until it becomes thick and sticky and the spices have infused into the syrup.
- At this stage, add the rest of the wine and the orange juice and turn the heat down to very low. You don't want the liquid to boil. Gently simmer for 5 minutes and then serve warm with slices of fresh orange in heatproof glasses or mugs.
