Generous ripe fruit flavours of the Clare Valley are balanced with elegant, fine tannins, lifted mint character and velvety finish of the Coonawarra.

More Information
Previous Vintages 2009, 2010
Region Clare Valley 72% / Coonawarra 28%
Colour At release, the wine has a deep ruby red colour to the centre with a youthful purple hue to the edges.
Nose There are lifted aromas of dark blackcurrant fruit along with subtle choc-mint and a hint of eucalypt.
Palate This is a rich full-bodied wine that will benefit from time in the bottle. It is a well-balanced wine across the palate with fine, elegant tannins – the hallmark of great Cabernet. Intense flavours of blackcurrant and cassis delight with subtle savoury French oak characters of cedar and spice. The finish is long and persistent.
Vintage Conditions The 2012 vintage is described as excellent by all winemakers. Good winter rains and a lack of frost resulted in optimal conditions throughout the growing season, however above average temperatures from November to January did result in lower yields in most varieties. January was also very dry and these dryer than normal conditions progressed into February, although later in the month a period of very cool nights and mild but warm days set in which served to effectively slow the ripening process. The grapes thus had time to reach optimum ripening maturity and overall, the red varieties are highly coloured, concentrated and varietal. This promises to be a vintage to collect.
Oak Maturation The wine was matured in French oak barrels (50% 1 year old, 50% a combination of 2 and 3 year old) for a period of 10 to 12 months before being bottled.
Cellaring Notes Crafted for immediate enjoyment but will cellar over a long term under ideal conditions.

Opaque with a deep purple rim and stained legs. Aromas of black cherry, crushed raspberry, chewy plums, cardamom, eucalyptus and fruit cake. Moderate tannins balance with chewy cherry, crushed boysenberry and dried strawberries along with a hint of candied violet

Taylors's Jaraman Cab straddles two of South Australia's finest appellations and the result is a sensational Cabernet that exhibits rich aromas of blackberry and red currant, with a strong note of eucalyptus and spice. The tannins are supple and sweet. On the mid-palate the wine is layered and complex, firmly structured and shows excellent persistence on the finish.

Ruby-red. Fresh blackberry, cherry pit and licorice on the perfumed nose, along with a floral topnote and a suggestion of black pepper. Sappy, concentrated dark berry and bitter cherry flavors are complemented by a peppery spice quality that builds as the wine opens in the glass. Finishes spicy and taut, with an echo of cracked pepper and subtle tannins.

The nose explodes with blackberry, blueberry, milk chocolate and floral notes, so obviously Australian, but enjoyable. Medium tannins, medium acid do a decent job supporting the rich blueberry and blackberry fruit. Notes of toast, mocha and smoke. Despite the richness, it’s still easily drinkable and not overbearing.

Bright with herbal spice, this is a brisk cabernet with the mintiness of Coonawarra and the eucalyptus notes of Clare. The tannins in the end of the wine will mellow in the context of grilled meat.

Dark, dark red colour; youthful with an intense minty character on the nose. Big, ripe and generous in the mouth with big, typically old-fashioned Aussie cabernet fruit, packed with mint, plums, blackberry and leather. Very good concentration on show here and quite good complexity with plenty of depth of flavour. There's plenty of oak too, well-melded amongst the fruit. The big, strapping tannins are excellent and provide a long, powerful finish. This is truly a take no prisoners style!

screw cap. A rich, round, full bodied Cabernet with excellent depth of fruit (blackberry, raspberry jam), with overtones of eucalyptus, pepper, green olive, toast and tobacco. It is balanced and long on the finish, with moderate tannin. Great value [2015-2019]

Aromas of black and red berries, blueberry, cassis, peppery spice, and mocha espresso. Soft and spicy on the palate, opening up to jammy black fruit, exotic spice, and dark chocolate, with a note of toasty cedar. Balanced, spicy finish. Very nicely done.
