The Taylors Story

From Clare Valley, With Care.

The Taylors Philosophy

We rest on the principle that the finest wines are those made with the greatest dedication and care. Above all our imperative is to 'respect the fruit'.

It All Starts with Family

"As custodians of my father and grandfather's vision, our decisions are made with our eyes firmly fixed upon the future and our long-term goal to make wines that will stand the test of time and that the next generation will be proud of."

The Taylor Family Members

Three generations of quiet ambition have shaped Taylors into one of Australia’s most respected family-owned wineries. From our family’s founding vision to global recognition, each wine is crafted with care, purpose, and a deep respect for the moments it’s invited to share.

OVER 50 YEARS OF TAYLORS WINES

Our Heritage

The Taylor family's long-standing association with the Clare Valley began in the late 1950s when, as Sydney wine merchants, they partnered with the Clare Valley Co-operative to bottle and distribute their own wines under the Chateau Clare label. Inspired by the great producers of Bordeaux and driven by a vision to craft wines that could rival the best in the world, the Taylor family then embarked on a journey to find the perfect plot of land on which to establish their family estate. On July 21st, 1969, their quest brought them to a site by the Wakefield River in South Australia’s Clare Valley. And on the same day that Neil Armstrong took mankind’s first steps onto the moon, Bill Taylor took his first steps on the soil that would eventually become the family estate.

For every table we’ve stood on, and every memory we’ve slipped into, thank you.
