At release the wine is a dark red colour with ruby red hues at the edge.

nose

The wine has a seductive, lifted aroma characterised by plum, blackcurrant and dark cherry fruits along with subtle vanilla and a touch of oak derived spice.

palate

The palate offers the perfect contradiction of lusciousness and finesse. The delicious fruit compote flavours of plum and blackberry are complimented by subtle spice characters of star anise, licorice and white pepper. The wine is medium-bodied with a plump mid-palate and supple tannins. This is an elegantly poised wine with a well-balanced structure, great texture, good length and captivating flavours.

oak maturation

The wine was matured in a combination of French (10%) and American (90%) oak for twelve months followed by fining, minimal filtration and then bottling.

cellaring notes

Crafted for immediate enjoyment but will cellar over a medium term under ideal conditions.
