At release, the wine is a deep, inky purple with a rose red hue.
There are lifted dark berry, black cherry and raspberry aromas along with subtle spice, dried herbs and mocha overtones from the oak maturation.
This is a medium bodied wine with luscious black cherry, plum and raspberry fruit characters along with some savoury, earthy undertones. The oak maturation brings attractive spice and mocha characters to the palate. Overall, the wine is well balanced with well integrated oak and the finish is persistent and imminently enjoyable.
Both American and French oak was employed for this wine. A mixture of 2 year old and older. After maturing for a period of 6 months, the wine was blended, filtered and bottled.
Crafted for immediate enjoyment but will cellar over a medium term under ideal conditions.
