The 2024 Family Flagship Release
The 20th July 1969 marks a significant anniversary for our family owned winery. Not only was it the day that saw Neil Armstrong’s first steps on the moon, it was also the day Bill Taylor Snr first set foot on the land that was to become the renowned Taylor family estate in South Australia’s beautiful Clare Valley.
To commemorate this momentous date in our 50-year winemaking journey, we are proud to unveil our second annual Family Flagship Release - a collection of new vintage releases of Taylors finest, most exceptional wines. The wines, showcase the pinnacle of our winemaking craft and fruit selection across the Clare Valley and select South Australian wine regions.
The 2024 Family Flagship Release includes new vintage releases across Taylors’ St Andrews and Masterstroke ranges, as well as the highly anticipated vintages of The Pioneer Shiraz, The Visionary Cabernet Sauvignon and the family’s pinnacle release wine - The Legacy.

The unveiling of the 2024 Taylors Family Flagship Release marks a significant milestone, commemorating our family’s standing not only in the Clare Valley, but right across the Australian wine industry.

This year’s edition of the Family Flagship Release comprises ten wines, representing six vintages, all crafted to display Taylors’ signature style of concentrated varietal flavour juxtaposed alongside poise and finesse. Fruit from the family’s Clare Valley Estate is prominently displayed across a majority of wines in the collection, with fruit from McLaren Vale and Coonawarra featuring across the Masterstroke range.

MASTERSTROKE SHIRAZ 2021
The wine has a deep concentration of generous plum and dark cherry fruit flavours along with subtle floral violet characters and a smack of opulent vanilla and spice from oak maturation. This is a luscious wine with distinctive velvety
tannins providing depth and grace to the structure.

MASTERSTROKE CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2021
The wine displays assertive, flavours of blackcurrant, mint and dark chocolate around a graceful, silky tannin structure and a thoroughly enjoyable long and persistent finish.

MASTERSTROKE CABERNET SHIRAZ 2018
This is a full bodied wine with rich flavours intermingling harmoniously with tightly wound oak tannins. Across the palate, black cherry, cassis, olive tapenade, dried mint and a hint of charcuterie characters delight. There is a long persistent finish of cigar box and spiced fruit compote.

ST. ANDREWS RIESLING 2024
At release, the wine exhibits zesty lemon and lime aromas along with a delightful orange blossom character. Across the palate, the wine is exceptionally balanced with an abundant of lemon/lime juice characters and a hint of fresh ginger. There is a crisp and refreshing lime acidity through the midpalate leading to a finish of superb persistence.
ST. ANDREWS RIESLING 2020 - MUSEUM RELEASE
The wine is evolving slowly with flavours of brown lime, grapefruit and subtle beeswax combining deliciously with a still racy, mouthwatering acid line. The finish is crisp and dry that lingers with pleasing varietal citrus flavours.

ST. ANDREWS CHARDONNAY 2022
This is a medium-bodied, elegant wine with flavours of white peach and nectarine stone fruit along with toasted cashew nut notes from quality French oak maturation. The wine is full-flavoured yet still graceful with crisp acidity keeping the wine fresh and vibrant and the oak character providing support for the fruit. The finish has wonderfully haunting persistence and length.

ST. ANDREWS SHIRAZ 2021
This is a generous, wine with fresh fruit flavours of blackberry and red plum along with a hint of fresh, crushed violets and clove spice. The palate structure transitions seamlessly from front to back with a plump, curvaceousness to the mid palate. Concentrated fruit sweetness marries harmoniously with mocha and spice from the barrel fermentation process. The finish is long and lingering with elegant, fine grained tannins.

ST. ANDREWS CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2020
On the palate it is a seamlessly structured wine with ripe blackcurrant and cassis characters intermingling harmoniously with savoury oak characters of cedar and subtle tobacco. This is a full-bodied wine that delivers power and strength in the hallmark varietal sense and yet is also supremely delicate in the fine boned tannin structure. The finish is long with a wonderful persistent, lingering presence.

THE PIONEER SHIRAZ 2018
The wine exudes the vibrant essence of juicy blueberry, raspberry and plum fruits, along with hints of crushed violet petals. Adding to the layers of complexity is a French oak influence - used for the first time with this vintage release. This provides mouth-filling texture and an elegant extension to the palate’s length.

THE VISIONARY CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2018
The favourable vintage conditions have imbued the wine with flavour that is both rich and refined. The palate is an interplay of mint and cassis, with a robust yet nuanced structure. Fine tannins and French oak enhance its flavours, leading to a smooth, lasting finish.

THE LEGACY CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2017
The Legacy 2017 boasts a classically elegant Cabernet Sauvignon structure, with refined, lingering tannins. The interplay of intense dark berries, nuts, and spice across a seamless palate promises a wine that, while impressive in its youth, is crafted for graceful aging.
