At release the wine is a deep red colour with a purple hue to the edge.

There are rich blackcurrant and black cherry fruit characters mingling with crushed violet floral aromas, subtle mint/menthol and hints of dark chocolate and cedar from oak maturation.

This is a full-bodied wine with bold flavours of blackcurrant cassis and rich, dark chocolate overlaying hints of mint and sweet leather. The wine has supple, mouth coating savoury tannins that linger in a pleasing fashion. Overall a most enjoyable wine.

The wine was matured for 14 months in French oak barrels with a medium toast (20% new, 80% mixture of 1 and 2 year old) before being bottled.

Crafted for immediate enjoyment but will cellar over a medium term under ideal conditions.
